Thursday (I think?), March 18: no, Wednesday!

The days are already kind of running together. But we are starting to stick to schedule which helps. Lucy is now doing "school" from 11-2 every day, though she kinda runs out of stuff to do after about 1/2 that time. Today on a long walk she told me how much she wants to be an astronaut. So we decided that researching what it takes to be an astronaut, and what it's like, would be a good school project - and could cover social studies, science, and writing. So she'll start that tomorrow. She's also fascinated by meteors. So that might be the next one.

She's been practicing Lacrosse a lot!

Big news of the day: Benjamin got into New England Conservatory! Whoo Hoo! So, as long as this damn virus isn't in the way, he'll be in Boston next year.

Other fun things: Lucy and I made a dessert called "Floating Islands" from the Fanny Farmer Cookbook. It's basically vanilla custard with meringues floating in it- or more like sitting ON it. Interesting.

I started reading War and Peace. It would be cool to read both War and Peace and Love in the Time of Cholera at the same time? Too confusing?

Kim, to answer your question - we've been collecting things on our walks and then arranging them into these little "archives." That's it, really. I got the idea from my friend's son. His are more beautiful.  You can see them on her Instagram: Pattie McCarthy.

It was fun to FaceTime with Dad and Louise today - it's so much better than  just talking on the phone. Nice to see everyone and to just let the conversation roll around. Lovely.

Happy Almost Birthday, Anna!
I wish we could all be with you in the flesh for your birthday.

Keep posting, everyone. I love the the text threads too. All of it - it's just good to be in touch in any way.
